IMPORTANT NOTE You are strongly advised to read the
Guidance Notes for Submission before you submit your case to the European eGovernment Awards 2009.
The submission process consists of two parts. It is important to complete both parts in full since
both include essential information for the evaluation process:
Part 1 - Identification and description of the case
Part 2 - Specific questions for the European eGovernment Awards 2009
All of the questions in PART 1 and PART 2 must therefore be answered in full, and as much relevant information as possible should be provided, especially in those fields in which open descriptions are required. Empty fields or incomplete information in Part 1 or Part 2 of the submission form may lead to disqualification of the application in the eligibility check phase.
After submission, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a registration number. If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, please contact the
Awards Helpdesk for clarification, as your submission may not have been processed.
Please complete the submission form in English. Please note that the number of characters for some sections is limited.
> Please provide the start and end date of your case. Empty 'To date' values will use the 'From date' values.

Who participate in Civil Servant 2.0?
Although Civil Servant 2.0 was initiated by the Dutch ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, currently people from a number of governmental organizations and civilians participate in maintaining and improving the internet sites and services. The initiative has no budget and relies on the support of its network to remain active and grow. This is done using free online tools to stay in contact, collaborate on new activities and find new contributors. Civil Servant 2.0 is currently in the process of becoming an independent foundation in order to be able to receive donations and to broaden its activities.
The initiative (allthough set forth by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) relies on it's open character in terms of contibutions from numerous governmental organizations, professionals within both public and private sector and last but not least the participation of civilians presenting themselves based on individual "special interests".
The collective of SC 2.0 initiaves relies on "the power of crowds" and "open environment". As a result, it's network growth is organic, establishes consistent widening variety of topics/discussion and a sustainable continous improvement in terms of the quality in content. This also leads to additional deepening and expansion of discussion and learning within the generic peer-group(s). As a result, the intensity of moderation and guidance on the online channels of the collective remains relatively limited leaving room for continuous development for/by core-contributors.
The network is solely powered by (free) online tools. They are applied to carry the generic network as well as the distribution of its content/output. Essentially, this leads to collaboration, new contributors/contributions and growth/convergence of individuals networks. Both in offline and online context.
The CS 2.0 network is transforming into an independant foundation to assure ongoing growth and facilitate the pursuit of increased monetary support and incentives.
